Technically, DMC's isn't close to metal, much less to DEATH metal. It's pretty much the stereotypical hard rock music KISS-style that people think how rock/metal is. Want death metal? Dethklok, Dimmu Borgir, Karmah are perfect examples.

The live action was very good since it included almost all of the episodes of the anime. I actually watched the movie first and and after that the anime. But...
I wanted to see Kra-tan in the live action!!!


Other than that, pretty good. Except for Negishi's extreme facial expressions and the fact that they made him look a lot more childish/crybaby type.
