This serie had potential in the beginning then it was just poorly executed with cheap gore, weak revenge and plot.
especially from someone who ''swears revenge on the the empire that took everything for him'' is a big overstatement .
There was a lot of better anime to watch in fall and this is one that I would only recommend for fans only.

For fans of snuff films and gratuitous gore, guro, cruelty, tyranny, etc. A few times, tense calmness or an unexpected smile may lower your guard or attach you to a character or make you think one's feelings have changed, but it's fleeting and stubbornly returns to feud gore. Personally, I'm not a fan.

It started like a proper series with some good depth and worldbuilding. But few episodes in, it's turned into a series with rage-bait & cheap gore.
Only watch if you're fan of those aspects, otherwise expect very bad writing where 1-2 stupid decisions cause major effect.
