Anime: Gyokou no Nikuko-chan 245f2d

I watched Gyokou no Nikuko-chan quite by accident, it was included in my movie subscription service, and I am always a fan of animation, so I decided to give it a chance.
I assumed from the trailer that it was a light hearted comedy, but it's actually a really deep drama, with some comedy thrown in.

I only had the Spanish dub available, so I can't really comment on the voice actors quality, but I did check the Japanese trailer, and the voices seemed to match well with the characters personalities.

This review is spoiler free, so let's just say that please watch the movie till the end, I almost stopped watching during the first 10 minutes, since it felt so frivolous, but it gets quite emotional later. The main themes are family, and that life is tough, but we can always survive, no one is perfect.

What really drew me in was how real all the characters were, and their problems were also very relateable, whoever wrote the script is very talented.

It's not exactly a Ghibli movie, but it's a movie that you can watch with your family, though perhaps not with children under 10, and yet you get the most of it if you watch it as an adult, the more real life experience, the harder the movie will punch you I think, and I mean that in a good way. Give it a try, it's a master piece in disguise.
