Hortensia Saga is an adaptation of a mobile game that has factions, alliances, sword fighting, betrayal and proving yourself. Right off the bat, this series had the ingredients to be compelling and it even started out that way with good artwork and animation. Unfortunately, the majority of the characters are not interesting and steadily got generic as the series progressed. In the end, this anime doesn't do a good job explaining the lore/characters, which I'd imagine the game does. For fans of this franchise.
